But we also want you to feel good about your smile, and that’s where our cosmetic dentistry services enter the picture. The aesthetics of your smile are as important to us as they are to you. Our Invisalign services can fix dental imperfections that are embarrassing or unsightly. If you’ve been longing to take care of those teeth and straighten out your smile, Invisalign in Prescott may be the right choice for you.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a discreet way to straighten your teeth, fix gaps between your teeth, or correct spacing issues, such as crowded teeth. Invisalign is essentially, clear braces. The first step in the process of choosing Invisalign is to visit with your dentist and determine whether you qualify for clear braces. Occasionally, some dental care will need standard metal braces because of the amount of realignment that is required. An excessive overbite or underbite may be reason for using metal braces.
Once your dentist has determined that you’re a candidate for Invisalign, the next step in the process is to take pictures and possibly make molds of your mouth. At Hicks Dental Group we use CEREC technology to take a 3D photo of your mouth. In the past, molds were done by hand, and sometimes they needed to be remade a few times in order to get the right fit. But CEREC technology is fast and simple, and best of all, achieves accurate results. The CEREC retainers will need to be changed every so often—usually every two weeks—and over time, will correct your teeth. Much like regular metal braces, the plastic retainers will need to be used long-term and be worn all day to achieve the desired result. Your Hicks Dental Group dentist will determine how many dental trays are needed and the length of time required for each tray.
Invisalign, or clear braces, can be used by both teens and adults. They’re a great way to fix your smile without the mess of metal wires and rubber bands used by most traditional, metal braces. The trays used with Invisalign braces may take a few days to adjust to, but they are far more subtle than the typical metal braces, and they’re effective. Most patients start to see results within a few months. You will need to see your dentist regularly to keep an eye on your progress, as well as to make sure that your teeth are staying strong and healthy. Dental cleanings are still required, even while using the clear trays. And you’ll need to continue cleaning and flossing your teeth regularly, before putting your clear trays back into your mouth. Invisalign in Prescott is a great way to achieve your perfect smile goals, so give us a call if you’d like to know more.
